About the role
We're looking for a Junior AWS Engineer to join our team, the ideal opportunity for a graduate or someone looking to gain professional hands-on experience.
In this role, you will support the design, deployment, and management of secure AWS environments for our clients. You will work closely with experienced cloud engineers to build infrastructure, implement security best practices, and optimise our clients AWS environments.
As AWS Advanced Tier Services Partners, a key part of your development will involve deepening your expertise in AWS services, with structured support to achieve AWS certifications and specialisations.
What you'll be doing
- Assisting with AWS partnership activities, such as logging opportunities, supporting funding requests, and helping the business to achieve additional AWS Specialisations.
- Actively working towards AWS certifications, with a focus on building expertise in architecture, cloud security and DevOps
- Monitoring cloud environments, responding to alerts, and helping to improve observability, reliability, and performance
- Collaborating with senior engineers on client projects, supporting the design, build, and deployment of secure AWS infrastructure
- Assisting in the implementation of AWS security best practices, including Identity & Access Management (IAM), network security, encryption, and compliance controls
- Contributing to the development and maintenance of secure CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub, GitLab, or Jenkins
- Working with containerised applications and cloud-native AWS services, gaining hands-on experience in modern architectures

We will pay for your AWS certifications, pair you with a senior engineer as a mentor, and give you dedicated time to stay up to date with emerging AWS technologies and security practices.

Location
This is an office based role, located at Rothamsted Enterprises, Harpenden, Hertfordshire, with the occasional opportunity to work from home.
